Thanks for your comment Lourdes. It's good to hear that you would study it again although it's not easy to get a job with a degree in political science/ social sciences. I think it's very important that a student enjoys what he or she is studying. I can hardly imagine what it's like to learn stuff that you don't care about!

MARIO! I want to reply to this - to give hope to other POL-SCI students too! Yes I studied political science too! I did my undergraduate in International Relations and am now doing Peace and Conflict studies. Like you, I felt I had to go abroad to get a bit of experience & I did. I would definitely do it again, except in retrospect I would probably add Law and another language to the degree. I am now working, well at Future Challenges (haha), but mostly just completing my postgraduate. Like you as well, I am not sure where I will end up - but I really enjoyed my political science studies and in many stages- have felt that I couldn't use it for anything practical - but am realising it has such broad applications for many jobs!

Thanks for your comment Jacinta. You're right, it takes a lot of self discipline. I needed this self discipline in order to find some time to relax. I always thought you could still do this or that. When you go into an office and you come back home in the evening it's easier to make a cut. But sometimes I still work from home. It's getting spring here in Germany and as soon as it will be warmer I can work from home in my garden, once in a while ;-) Would you prefer to work in an office if office space wasn't too expensive?

Hi Mario: I think working from home takes a lot of self discipline. You have to be strict about the hours you dedicate to work, if not you find yourself working all the time (even on weekends) or procastinating when you should be working. So I think that this can work depending on each individual. For some, being present at an office is the best solution.
I also work from home but here in El Salvador the option of renting an office would be too expensive, so I have no other choice.
Few companies here in Central America have adopted the "work at home" strategy as means to save energy and costs for their companies but its not a widespread practice yet.
